Based in Lyons, Kansas, the Lyons Recreation Commission has been providing recreational opportunities for the citizens of USD#405 and beyond for over 40 years. Enabling legislation was passed in 1975. 

Over the years, the Recreation Commission had used the school District's facilities, the city's ball diamonds, public buildings, city parks, churches, and private businesses for recreational programming.

The Recreation Commission's goals as formally adopted by the Board of Commissioners, emphasizes high quality programming of existing facilities and services. In line with this philosophy, an active approach to development of new and creative recreation activities assures that future demands and needs of Lyons citizens are addressed. 

Our future at LRC looks healthy. As current plans and trends are implemented, we can remain a progressive and active public servant to the residents of the Lyons area.
